The Punjabi movie Paani Ch Madhaani hits the silver screen at the festival of Diwali. Set in the 1980s, the plot revolves around Gulli who hails from an underprivileged family. Moreover, he is a singer and runs his own band comprising Karamjit Anmol (Satta), Harby Sangha, and others. They sing folk and cultural songs, however, it fails to capture the audience and brings nothing but rotten tomatoes. After quite a struggle, the group decides to add an attraction to the sing a duet, this is how Sohni is introduced. Her presence brings glory to the band. They start getting a good number of shows and hence become famous all around. With the same, comes the insecurity in the mind of Gippy against Sohni. As everyone adores Sohni, her singing, and her flawless beauty. Nonetheless, they then get a life-changing opportunity to perform in London.
The entire crew happily land up there. Within a few days of their arrival, Gulli gets a call from home stating he wins a lottery worth Rs 21 Lakhs. However, the lottery ticket goes missing. As far as acting is concerned, it is just an immaculate mix of talent and skill. Therefore, each and every character of the movie nail their respective roles. From lead to supporting cast, all the members contributed their best. Also, no character overshadowing others, thus striking the right balance of performances. Gippy and Neeru Bajwa will bag more fans and followers after watching this movie. However, Gurpreet Ghuggi’s character can be improved to an extent in terms of his Punjabi language used. Following the story and acting, the direction is another flawless factor. Director Vijay Kumar Arora, known for Harjeet and bagged a national award too, well-built the entire plot with much precision. Also, he ensured there must not be any dull moment. The movie keeps you glued throughout the run.
The music department works quite well in the movie. There aren’t any overboard creations. Jatinder Shah and Happy Raikoti in association with Humble Music deliver amazing sound and songs. Jean and Pind Pind are the popular songs from the movie. Listening to them while watching the flick adds even more entertainment. Also, there’s a special romantic song featuring the gorgeous lead pair.
